Problem

      Some of Vermont's smaller businesses face some Y2K problems, but those problems may be less than the daily newspapers proclaim.

Risk Assessment

      Do you rely on finance, spreadsheet, or database software. Check the manufacturers' Y2K Compliance statements.

Develop a Rational Y2K Plan

• Check the manufacturers' Y2K Compliance statements for your finance, spreadsheet, and database software.
• Check every macro in your "compliant" spreadsheet. Macros that act on 2-digit years are hard to detect and may jeopardize compliance.
• Check every field in your "compliant" database. Fields that contain 2-digit years are hard to detect and may jeopardize compliance.
